Promotions From Across Legal And Non Legal Teams
Irwin Mitchell has announced seven Partner promotions from across its legal and non-legal teams as it progresses its plans to grow its business and cement its position as a leading force in the legal sector.
The seven Associates, six of whom are female, will all become partners on May 1 and come from both its business and personal legal services divisions, with a member of its business development team also promoted in the 2015 round, continuing Irwin Mitchell’s record of appointing Partners from other professional roles than law.
The news comes just weeks after Irwin Mitchell launched a refresh of its brand amid plans to expand its services to clients from both the business and private client markets. In the past year, it also completed the acquisition of private wealth firm Berkeley Law and opened two new offices in Southampton and Cambridge.
Congratulating all seven on their promotion, Group Chief Executive Andrew Tucker said each had built strong connections with clients over their time with Irwin Mitchell.
Five of the successful candidates are part of Irwin Mitchell’s market-leading personal legal services division, including clinical negligence experts Sarah Coles, from the firm’s Leeds office, and London-based Anita Jewitt.
International Personal Injury specialist Liz Tetzner also moves up to Partner in the Birmingham office, joined by fellow personal injury expert Sally Rissbrook from Sheffield, who started her career with Irwin Mitchell on work experience 17 years ago. The quintet is completed by Sheffield-based Court of Protection specialist Elizabeth Perry.
The Group’s rapidly-expanding business legal services division is represented by corporate lawyer James Foster, who works with businesses from both Leeds and Sheffield on regional and international transactions.
The latest promotion round will also see Michelle Beat, the firm’s Head of Business Development for its personal legal services division, become the latest professional from a specialism other than law to be named as a partner after her work on the firm’s advertising campaigns and with a number of charities.
