Legal Experts Reiterate Calls For Proper Support For Those Affected
Specialist lawyers in Glasgow who represent victims of the Clutha helicopter tragedy have given their backing to calls for more to be done to ensure anyone involved in or who witnessed the tragic bin lorry crash in George Square in December to get vital counselling support.
The Crown Office recently confirmed that it is to provide details on its investigations into the incident on December 22nd, in which six people were killed and ten others were injured, next month.
However, concerns have been raised by experts at the University of Glasgow regarding the risk of those involved developing post-traumatic stress disorder, with the Glasgow Evening Times also reporting anecdotal evidence that victims are facing a long wait for NHS counselling support.
News of the concerns emerged as details were also released regarding the identity of the driver of the vehicle during the incident.
Following the reports, Irwin Mitchell Scotland’s specialist serious injury lawyers, who act for victims of the Clutha tragedy in 2013, have urged authorities in Glasgow to ensure that the necessary level of support is made available to those who need it the most.
