Aviation Lawyers Call For The Investigation To Provide Prompt Answers
Specialist aviation lawyers have urged for prompt answers regarding a fatal plane crash in Perthshire which claimed the lives of two men.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) is continuing to work alongside police to investigate the incident on Sunday, which it is understood led to the deaths of Andrew Thompson from Cheshire and John MacKinnon of Ross-shire.
It has been reported that they were flying a Cessna 172 and that they lost contact with air traffic control at Dundee Airport around four miles from the site. A major ground and air search was launched and the aircraft wreckage was located in trees on a hillside near the village of Abernyte.
Reports have suggested that there were adverse weather conditions at the time that the plane went missing, with the AAIB confirming that a report on the incident would be sent to the procurator fiscal in due course.
Jim Morris, a specialist aviation lawyer at Irwin Mitchell who represents injured victims and the families of those killed in air accidents in the UK and abroad, said that the priority at present must remain on gathering detail on the crash so that the chain of events that led to this tragedy can be quickly identified.
The team of experts acts on behalf of those affected by a range of aviation disasters, from in-flight incidents to tragedies such as the Clutha helicopter crash in November 2013 and the Germanwings crash earlier this year.
