Expert Asbestos-Related Disease Lawyers Attended Events To Raise Awareness Of Asbestos-Related Disease
Expert asbestos-related disease lawyers at Irwin Mitchell, who represent many people affected by the serious health problems asbestos exposure can cause, are helping to raise awareness by taking part in a series of events on Action Mesothelioma Day.
The annual day, which this year will take place on July 3, sees victim support groups and charities come together to organise events across the UK to raise awareness of mesothelioma, an incurable cancer that kills over 2,500 people every year in the UK.
Specialist lawyers at Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office will be supporting the day by attending events in Bristol and Plymouth.
Nicole Ross will be attending the Mesothelioma and Awareness Plymouth and South West event at Saltram House in Plymouth, where flowers will be placed at the Mesothelioma Tree, which was planted to remember those who passed away after a battle with the disease.
Specialist asbestos-related disease lawyers Virginia Chalmers, Isabelle Selley and Leanne Leighton will be attending the Bristol and Beyond Asbestos Family Support meeting where mesothelioma sufferer and support group member, Rob Thompson, will be speaking about the disease and his experiences.
A dove release will also take place in memory of those who have died from mesothelioma and to give hope to those diagnosed with the disease.
Virginia Chalmers, Partner of the specialist asbestos-related disease team at Irwin Mitchell in Bristol, said:Expert Opinion
“We see on a day-to-day basis the pain and suffering caused by mesothelioma, often decades after people were exposed to asbestos.
“The disease kills more than 2,500 people every year in the UK and Action Mesothelioma Day plays a crucial role in raising awareness of mesothelioma and highlighting the very real danger asbestos poses.
“We are delighted to be able to show our support for such an important cause and attend these events in the South West. We hope that by raising awareness of the very real risk asbestos poses we will ensure the number of people affected by mesothelioma will begin to fall in the future.” Virginia Chalmers - Partner
