Call For Prompt Inquiry To Provide Vital Answers To ‘City Of Glasgow As A Whole’

Specialist lawyers acting for victims injured in the fatal bin lorry crash in Glasgow in December last year have welcomed news that a fatal accident inquiry (FAI) will be held into the incident, but urged it must be held as soon as possible to ensure those affected get the answers they deserve.

The Crown Office has announced that no charges would be brought following a review of the police report into the incident on December 22nd in Glasgow city centre, when six people were killed and ten others injured.

Crown counsel have decided that a FAI should be held into the causes of this tragedy to ensure a full public hearing takes place. The Crown Office will petition the court within two weeks of today’s decision to ensure it is held as soon as possible.
