Two Batches Of Batteries Recalled Over Manufacturing Errors

KTM Bike Industries and Panasonic have announced the recall of some of its batteries used in KTM E-Bikes after concerns over the way the products were manufactured, which could lead to affected units overheating and combusting.

The company said its NKY442B2 batteries are affected by the manufacturing errors and only batteries with serial numbers starting RA16 and RA17 have been recalled.

Panasonic advised that consumers should remove batteries from their electric bike immediately and exchange it for a new product before using.

Thankfully there have been no injuries reported in relation to these batteries but it is vital Panasonic reassures consumers that every possible step is being taken to ensure future products do not pose a safety risk.
