Expert Opinion
It remains very early days following this tragedy, but it is vital that police and the AAIB work quickly and thoroughly to understand all aspects of this flight in order to determine what caused the crash.

"Among the key issues to consider will be the weather conditions at the time of the incident, as well as whether any technical or mechanical issues may have arisen which could have played a part. The actions of the pilot will also need to be considered.

"Through our work on cases including the Clutha tragedy in Glasgow towards the end of last year, we have seen the terrible consequences that fatal crashes of this kind can have on victims and their loved ones.

"The ultimate aim must be to ensure that answers can be provided regarding the crash, which will ensure that lessons can be learned and flight safety improved in the future."
