Reports Reveal A Number Of Pupils Are Suffering From Gastric Illness

The Ysgol Brynrefail high school in Llanrug, Gwynedd is urging staff and pupils suffering from gastric symptoms to remain at home, following reports of a number of people being affected by an outbreak at the site.

The BBC reports that Public Health Wales and the local council are assisting the school after it was revealed that a number of pupils were suffering from illness.

Parents have been urged to keep children away from the school if they have experienced a high temperature, headache and vomiting and/or diarrhoea in recent days.

More than 780 pupils are thought to attend Ysgol Brynrefail, with the reports of illness coming after similar concerns were recently raised regarding a school in Derby.

According to the Derby Telegraph, St Clare’s School in Derby was also closed for a day as a result of 14 staff being affected by illness.
