Lawyers Of Victims Demand Full Disclosure On Safety Steps Taken

Legal experts representing victims of the Apollo Theatre roof collapse in December last year have called on the building’s owner to provide full information on the steps that have been taken to prevent the issue from ever happening again, as the site’s reopening draws closer.

Irwin Mitchell is now acting for multiple victims who suffered serious physical and psychological trauma in when the ceiling of the West End theatre came down during a performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on December 19th, leaving more than 50 people needing hospital treatment.

With around a week to go until the theatre’s re-opening on March 26th, the team of specialist lawyers is now calling on its owner Nimax Theatres to provide absolute clarity regarding the steps taken to ensure the problems seen at the site will not be repeated.

The experts, who acted for victims injured during a stage collapse at the Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham in 2003, also represent people hurt when part of the set of acrobatic show Fuerzabruta collapsed at the Camden Roundhouse in January.

In terms of the legal cases, Irwin Mitchell is currently gathering medical evidence on behalf of its victims as it continues to work to secure justice for them.

However, David Urpeth added that victims are yet to get any information regarding what steps have been taken to rectify the issues which led to the ceiling collapse and reassurances related to the safety of the site.
