Families holidaying abroad have been warned of potential issues related to the availability of car seats as part of Good Morning Britain’s ongoing Belt Up Britain campaign to improve safety.

Research by the ITV breakfast news show has revealed one in six parents take risks with car seat safety on holidays, while a similar number have also been given the wrong seat when either being transferred or hiring a car abroad.

The concerns raised are the latest findings related to Good Morning Britain’s Belt Up Britain campaign, which is based around ensuring that car seats are safe to use and also fitted correctly in vehicles.

Retailers including Mothercare and Halfords have lent their support to the initiative, offering fitting advice and further guidance in relation to the issue.
