GoNutrition is pulling all 1,000ml bottles of GoFood Liquid Egg Whites with a best before date of April 8th 2015 from the shelves, after testing found the presence of salmonella in some bottles.
Anybody who has bought the product bearing this best before date, with the lot code 441202.12.05, has been advised to contact GoNutrition by email and return the product to receive a full refund.
Monocore Limited, which distributes the product in the UK, has contacted customers known to have bought the affected batch, and product recall notices are being distributed.
Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning, including stomach cramps and diarrhoea. In August, an outbreak of the bug led to 247 cases of illness across the UK, and was traced to a single source of eggs by a Public Health England investigation.
