Expert lawyers representing the parents of a two-day-old baby who died at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol will attend an inquest into his death.

Jared McDowall died on 17 January 2012 two days after being born by emergency C-Section. An inquest into his death will be held at 10am on Wednesday 25 September at Bristol Coroner’s Court.

Jared’s parents, Natasha and Shaun, have instructed medical law experts at Irwin Mitchell to investigate the circumstances surrounding their son’s death.

Julie Lewis, a Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office representing the family, said: “Jared’s parents have understandably been left devastated by the unexpected loss of their first child.

“This has been a very difficult time for the family. They would like to take this opportunity to thank the Coroner for taking the time to investigate any potential failings that led to their loss and hope it will lead to the many questions they have about Jared’s death being answered.

“We will continue to work with the family as they come to terms with this tragedy.”
