Independent Results Cement Position As Market Leading Provider Of Consumer Legal Services

Irwin Mitchell’s Personal Legal Services division has achieved improved rankings once again in the annual Chambers UK guide for 2014 with over 65 lawyers personally recommended and the firm named in the top three in 27 areas of law.

The independent publication, which grades solicitors and barristers across all areas of law in the UK, has ranked and named 66 lawyers as leading individuals from within the firm’s Personal Legal Services team up from 60 last year. Across the firm’s regional network of offices there are 15 teams ranked in the top tier for their field of law.

The Aviation law team was ranked number one, along with Industrial Disease, Clinical Negligence, Product Liability, International Travel and Personal Injury and the Yorkshire Family law team. The Court of Protection team is also the only number one ranked firm in its category.

Irwin Mitchell, which recently reported an annual income in excess of £200m for the first time, has undergone a senior recruitment drive over the past year with four new partners in the Personal Legal Services team this year and 18 new partners added to its Business Legal Services division since 2012.

Around the regions the Family law team was ranked number one in Sheffield and in the top three in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and London.

The firm was also ranked as number one for Personal Injury in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield; and was in the top three in Scotland. While for Clinical Negligence the firm was top in Birmingham, London Leeds and Sheffield and tier two in Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle.

The Public Law team was ranked in the top two for its administrative work and was also recommended for Civil Liberties, Education, Prison and Police Law and Environment.
