Teams Invited To Take Part In Charity Challenge
Lawyers and support staff at law firm Irwin Mitchell will be swapping the courtroom for the netball court when they host their annual netball tournament to raise money for charity.
Members of the Irwin Mitchell Charities’ Foundation are inviting netball teams from across South Yorkshire to enter the tournament to help raise money for The Children’s Hospital Charity, the Sheffield office’s nominated charity of the year.
The event will be held at the Sheffield International Venues’ run English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EIS Sheffield), on Sunday, 7 July 2013.
Rachel Cox, a first year Trainee Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office, said: “The tournament is now in its sixth year and it’s always a really fun event with a great sense of competitive spirit. We’ve had many teams from other well-known businesses and organisations from across Sheffield in the past and we’d love to lay down the gauntlet to them again this year!
“The Children’s Hospital Charity is a cause close to all our hearts in Sheffield because it helps fund such vital care for children and young people throughout the region, so we are really proud to be hosting this event again. Hopefully we can beat last year’s total of £1,420.12 which was raised for St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.”
Irwin Mitchell is looking for as many teams as possible to take part in the tournament. Teams are made up of seven players plus subs. All players must be aged 16 or over and teams should bring their own packed lunch for the event. The EIS Sheffield will provide all the balls, bibs and any other equipment needed.
There will also be a raffle and an awards presentation to reward the winning team. Entry costs £100 per team and anyone interested should call Rachel Cox on 0370 1500 100 or email rachel.cox@irwinmitchell.com.
