Devastated Husband Looking For Answers
An inquest is due to take place on Tuesday 19th February to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who died at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.
Joyce Davies, 72, was admitted to the hospital where she underwent keyhole surgery to remove a cyst from her pelvis on September 8th 2011. Her condition deteriorated following the operation and she passed away on September 10th following a night in the intensive care unit.
HM Coroner for Avon, Maria Voisin, will hold the inquest, listed as a one day hearing, at the Coroner’s Court in Flax Bourton on Tuesday at 10am.
Luke Trevorrow, a medical law and patients’ rights expert at law firm Irwin Mitchell, is representing Joyce’s husband, Alan, from Southmead, Bristol.
He said: “Mr Davies was absolutely devastated by the death of his wife and hopes that the inquest will shed some light on the circumstances leading to it.”
