Black Tie Ball for Local Leeds Charity
By Rob Dixon
Lawyers from Irwin Mitchell are calling on the people of Leeds to don their glad rags and put on their dancing shoes to support the 'Little Hiccups' charity at its annual ball next month.
The black tie event will take place on Saturday 5th October and will see guests treated to a three course dinner and an evening of entertainment.
The event, sponsored by Irwin Mitchell who named Little Hiccups as its Charity of the Year, will help raise awareness and funds so it can continue to support parents and their children who have special needs.
Little Hiccups is a Leeds-based support group that has been set up by two mums who both have children with special needs. Through personal experience, they recognise the importance of allowing the parents and families of a child with a disability the opportunity to meet people in similar situations, to make friends and support each other.
While parents have a chance to chat to other carers in similar situations, children are able to learn through play, making friends and having fun.
The ball will take place at the The Marriott Hotel, Trevelyan Square, Leeds. A drinks reception will commence at 7pm which will be proceeded by a three course meal and live entertainment.
James Thompson, specialist medical lawyer at Irwin Mitchell said: “Little Hiccups is a wonderful local Leeds charity that really does support a fantastic cause. This is why they are the Irwin Mitchell Leeds office ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2013.
“We see firsthand with our medical negligence clients the difference the support group makes to parents and children with special needs, but it needs funds to be able to keep providing this excellent service.
“The charity ball is going to be a great evening of good company and fantastic entertainment so we hope many people can turn up, donate and support Little Hiccups.”
Little Hiccups founder Linsay Medica also commented: “Our charity ball promises to be a fantastic night. We are a not for profit organisation and any funds raised will go straight into the continued support for parents who have children with special needs.
“There will be two excellent vocalists in attendance and other entertainment will be provided as well as a delicious three course meal. We hope to share a great evening with you all.”
