Deal Saves Over 20 Jobs
The Leeds office of law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has advised Poppies Europe on its acquisition of paper napkin maker McNulty Wray.
The deal, which has safeguarded 22 jobs, follows the appointment of Keith Marshall and Sarah Burge at RSM Tenon as joint administrators of McNulty Wray Ltd on 31 October 2012.
RSM Tenon understands that Poppies Europe purchased McNulty Wray as part of its plans to expand their presence in the North of England.
Andrew Walker, a restructuring partner at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds who led the team, said: “McNulty Wray is well-established as a leader in its field and represents a good acquisition for Poppies Europe. It is very pleasing to see that the deal has been completed quickly and tremendously satisfying that the jobs have been saved as a result.”
Keith Marshall from RSM Tenon said: "We are delighted to announce the acquisition of McNulty Wray by Poppies Europe Ltd and would like to wish the new owners and staff every success."
