Motorists Evacuated From Vehicles Close To Incident

Motorists have suffered significant delays on the M6 after a chemical tanker caught fire, leading to a number of people being hospitalised for breathing difficulties.

Warwickshire Police have confirmed that the motorway was closed on Wednesday morning (November 12th) after a chemical fire on the northbound carriageway between junction 3 and 4.

West Midlands Ambulance Service revealed that ten people were taken to hospital, while motorists close to the fire were evacuated from their vehicles as a precautionary measure and moved from the scene. Residents nearby were also advised to stay indoors and keep windows closed.
