Law Firm Sponsors Midlands Athletics Star
Lawyers at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office are sending heptathlon athlete Louise Hazel good luck wishes this week as the Birchfield Harriers athletics club star is set to compete in her first event at the London Olympics.
Irwin Mitchell has sponsored Louise for the last two years and the support has helped fund Louise’s training fees, coaching sessions and travel expenses to warm-up events which have seen her achieve huge success, including a Commonwealth gold medal in Dehli in 2010.
Louise, originally from Cambridgeshire, now lives in Edgbaston after coming to the city for a French Studies degree at the University of Birmingham and trains with the Birchfield Harriers six days a week.
Her first event at the Olympics is on 3 August where she will compete in the 100m hurdles as part of the Women’s Heptathlon.
Stuart Henderson, Head of Personal Injury and Regional Managing Partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office , said: “Louise is a fantastic athlete and we are proud to sponsor her, particularly as she goes into the biggest competition of her career to date.
“Her dedication and commitment is highly commendable and the effort she puts in at the Birchfield Harriers athletics club is sure to pay off. All of us at Irwin Mitchell wish her the very best of luck in the London Olympics. We know she will make Birmingham and Great Britain proud.”
