Crash Tragedy Inquest
16/09/2011
An inquest into the deaths of Nicola Newland and Robert Gallagher, who were killed during a car crash in Harlow in October, 2009 is to take place at 10:00am on Monday, September 19 at County Hall, Chelmsford, Essex.
38-year-old data network analyst Nicola had been on her way home from a hockey match when the Corsa she was driving was involved in the road traffic crash.
Nicky, as she was known to her family and friends, was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital for emergency specialist treatment following the incident but sadly died before she arrived.
Keith Barrett, a serious and fatal injury specialist from law firm Irwin Mitchell is representing the family at this difficult time. He said: “This has been an extremely distressing time for Nicola’s family who have lost a much loved wife, daughter and sister.
“They hope that the inquest will provide them with some answers to the questions they have about the circumstances surrounding the crash, and her tragic death.”
The inquest is expected to last two days and will also hear details regarding the death of Robert Gallagher, the passenger of a Nissan Skyline also involved in the crash.
Though Mrs Newland’s family will be attending the inquest they will not be available to talk to the press and will be looking instead to issue a statement through their solicitors. Should you have any enquiries please don’t hesitate to contact the Irwin Mitchell press office on 01142744666.
