Expert Calls For Answers
A workplace injury expert has revealed her hopes that answers will be provided into the death of a man killed in an apparent industrial accident.
Emergency services were called to Delgaty Farm, near Turriff, in Aberdeenshire this morning (March 28th), with reports suggesting that the victim was found trapped under a forklift truck in a wooded area of the site.
Investigations are now underway into events leading up to the incident.
Elaine Russell of Irwin Mitchell, who specialises in providing advice on to the families of those seriously or fatally injured at work, said: “While only a handful of details have so far been released in relation to this incident, it is clear there are concerns over how this may have occurred.
“We regularly see the devastating impact that workplace injuries can have on so many people and have also provided support to those who have tragically lost loved ones in such incidents.
“It is vital that an investigation considers the safety measures in use on the farm and that lessons are learnt which will hopefully prevent other people from suffering in a similar manner in the future.”
