Expert Calls For Thorough Investigation
Police have appealed for witnesses after three schoolchildren suffered minor injuries in an incident which saw a minibus leave a road in Forfar.
The JP Coaches vehicle carrying 14 children from Forfar Academy and Langlands Primary is believed to have veered off the road close to the Orchardbank Business Park roundabout yesterday afternoon (January 26th).
Some of the children are thought to have suffered minor head injuries, while others were left suffering shock following the incident. No one involved required hospital treatment.
Elaine Russell, who works with victims injured in road traffic incidents at Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office, has called on police to work quickly and thoroughly to discover the cause of the crash.
She explained: “Incidents of this kind often have a significant emotional and psychological impact on those involved, particularly young people.
“It is clear that questions have to be asked as to what caused the incident, as the parents of those hurt or traumatised will undoubtedly be seeking answers over what happened.
“Ultimately, it is vital that lessons can be learnt that will ensure that no one else – young or old – is involved in a similar incident in the future.”
