Reports Highlight Problems With Certain Models
An expert at Irwin Mitchell has revealed her concerns over reports that have highlighted apparent safety issues with some Silver Cross pushchairs.
Reports in the national media have revealed that the manufacturer had issued safety notices in relation to its Halo range, after it was revealed that children and adults had suffered injuries after trapping their fingers in the models.
Irwin Mitchell has experience of providing advice on this issue, as the firm represents a number of people who lost parts of their fingers after they were caught in the hinge mechanisms of Maclaren pushchairs.
Katrina Elsey, who specialises in product liability claims for Irwin Mitchell, said: “Considering our experience with injuries related to pushchairs and prams, we are deeply concerned that it appears lessons have not been learnt from previous high-profile cases.
“I welcome the firm’s decision to recall the models in question and hope that this will be followed up with a thorough investigation into how these issues arose.
“It is vital that this is done immediately to ensure that parents and children are protected from harm and no one else suffers in the same manner.”
