An inquest into the death of a man struck by a freight train in Witham is taking place on 2 February at Shire Hall, Chelmsford, Essex.
Peter Bane, 47, from Happisburgh, Norfolk died when he was struck by a train on 16 February 2010. He leaves a wife and an 11 year old daughter as well as two adult children from a previous marriage. Mr Bane had suffered from periods of depression in the past and had been speaking with health practitioners at Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in the days leading up to his death.
Anita Jewitt, a solicitor from Irwin Mitchell representing the family, said: "Peter Bane was a hardworking, professional man who is sorely missed by his family and friends.
“The family are devastated by Peter's death and hope that the inquest will provide some answers to their questions over the events leading up to this tragic incident.”
