Cases Brings Health And Safety Into The Spotlight

A top personal injury lawyer has called on authorities to ensure the investigation into the death of an 11-year-old girl at a watersports centre in London is carried out swiftly.

Keith Barrett of Irwin Mitchell’s London office said the tragic case of Mari-Simon Cronje has once again brought the issue of health and safety back into the spotlight.

It is believed that the youngster was hit by a speedboat after falling off an inflatable banana boat during a friend’s birthday celebrations at Princes Club in west London. She died later in West Middlesex Hospital, with tests revealing she suffered severe leg injuries.

Discussing the case, Barrett outlined:  “This is a tragic case. This young girl lost her life though no fault of her own.

“The investigation into this case needs to be carried out quickly to ensure that any serious failings can be identified and further incidences are prevented.”
