Medical Law and Patients Rights Expert Comments On Report

Comments from law firm Irwin Mitchell on the report by Sir Ian Kennedy into children's NHS services.

Suzanne Munroe, a Partner in the Medical Law and Patients Rights team at Irwin Mitchell, said: "As someone who acts for a number of children with disabilities and illnesses that often require long term treatment, I am very concerned by the findings of this review. There is a clear need for action to be taken given the hard hitting tone that this report has had to take.

"I hope this call to action results in real change and improvement in the services provided. Patient safety has to be the number one priority for everyone in the NHS, and we fully support anything that can be done to stop people suffering from incidents that are completely avoidable."
