Reports Reveal Vehicle Struck Railway Bridge
National Express East Anglia has revealed it is to investigate a bus crash in Essex which saw ten people injured.
According to reports from the BBC, the coach - which was running as a train service replacement - struck a railway bridge on Station Road in Manningtree on Sunday evening.
A number of people are thought to have suffered injuries caused by broken glass, while one trapped man had to be rescued by fire crews. The incident also led to the closure of the railway bridge involved.
Gary Walker of Irwin Mitchell said: “While it is good news that no one was seriously hurt, this incident has raised major question marks in relation to passenger safety and the route that the bus was travelling.
“I hope the coach operator and rail authorities work quickly to provide answers to those involved as to how and why this crash occurred.
“Such information should go some way to ensuring that no one else suffers the emotional and physical trauma of such an incident again.”
