Firm Takes Part In 2010 Community Walk For Wellbeing
A team of solicitors from the Midlands’ offices of law firm, Irwin Mitchell, took part in the recent 2010 Community Walk for Wellbeing. The event, held for the second year in Handsworth Park, aims to promote community cohesion and wellbeing.
Rajbir Somel, a trainee solicitor with Irwin Mitchell, together with five colleagues, completed the 5km course and, in doing so, raised almost £400. All funds raised by the event will be shared by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Acorns Children’s Hospice and Nishkam Civic Association’s Nishkam Aid Project.
“The weather on the day was lovely so we enjoyed the walk and it was great to be able to raise money for such deserving causes,” said Rajbir.
Official supporters of the 2010 Community Walk for Wellbeing event included:
Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha
Aston Villa Football Club
East End Foods
British Army
Sikh Aid International
Birmingham City Council
Health Exchange
Rajbir added: “In addition to enjoying the event and the exercise, we are also pleased to have done our bit and fundraised for causes that are so vital to our local communities.”
