Insider Dealing
Financial Services Authority (FSA) Lose Their First Insider Dealing Case
Irwin Mitchell's Regulatory & Criminal Investigations team represented Andrew King, acquitted of insider dealing charges on 3 June 2010 by a jury at Southwark Crown Court after less than 90 minutes of deliberations. This is the first-ever acquittal in an FSA prosecution for insider dealing. Mr King was the Finance Director of the biotech company NeuTec Pharma, taken over in 2006 by Novartis, the pharmaceutical giant. Irwin Mitchell instructed Sir Ken Macdonald QC and Julian Knowles from Matrix Chambers.
