Two-Day Hearing To Be Held
An inquest, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 26 year old Birmingham man is due to take place on Tuesday January 4th 2011.
On 1st December 2009, Steven Karl Murray from Erdington was found dead in his flat, after absconding from Highcroft Hospital the day before, where he had been receiving care for a longstanding mental illness.
HM Coroner for Birmingham, Mr Aidan Cotter, will hold the inquest, listed as a two-day hearing, before a jury, starting at 10.00am at Birmingham Coroner’s Court.
Christopher Hurlston, a medical law solicitor with law firm, Irwin Mitchell, who is representing the family, said: “Mr Murray’s family have found it extremely hard to come to terms with what happened and very much hope that the inquest will shed light on the circumstances which led to his death.”
