Fatal Work Accident In Scotland
A 31-year-old man has been crushed to death after a steel building frame collapsed on him, police have confirmed.
Daniel Hurley was taken to hospital after the accident in Murano Street, Glasgow, but did not survive the ordeal.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: "Around 8.35am Daniel Hurley, of Arrowsmith Avenue, Glasgow sustained fatal injuries when he was crushed by the steel building frame which collapsed when he was working on a new building site in Murano Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and transferred him to Glasgow Western Infirmary where sadly Daniel died on arrival."
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
His family have been informed and the Health and Safety Executive will carry out a full inquiry.
