Children Injured In Leicester Bus Crash
A number of children have been taken to hospital after the double-decker bus they were travelling on collided with a bridge in Leicester this morning. The children were treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary for cuts and bruises. Police are carrying out an investigation to find out how the bus hit the rail bridge over Lancaster Road. The children were from Cantrell Primary School, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire.
A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "None of the injuries are thought to be serious. The remaining children are being supported and assessed for possible shock. Leicestershire Police are working with Nottinghamshire Police and Nottingham City Council to make parents aware. The investigation is in early stage, and officers are looking into events that led to the collision. No arrests have been made at this stage."
