Accident At Work
A man whose legs were smashed in a power station accident in Nottinghamshire has been airlifted to hospital.
It is thought his injuries are not life-threatening, but a serious accident at the Staythorpe plant near Newark has been confirmed.
It is believed that a pipe fell on to a worker, crushing his legs and that the Health and Safety Executive will be investigating the incident.
David Urpeth, a work accident specialist from law firm Irwin Mitchell said: “This was a terrible work accident.
“Industrial accidents involving falling objects or falls from height remain a major source of serious or fatal injury following an accident at work.
“All too often I have to help workers pursue their compensation claim following an injury sustained in a work accident.”
