Fatal Work Accident
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating after a lorry driver died in an accident while working a at factory in Wales.
Christopher Martyn Beard, 52, believed to be from Warrington, died after suffering head injuries at the Nice-Pak plant on Aber Park, Aber Road, Flint.
It is thought he died after falling and banging his head while strapping pallets to his HGV, but the circumstances have not yet been confirmed.
A spokesman for Nice-Pak, which makes wet wipes, said the company is co-operating fully with the HSE investigation.
Haulage driver Mr Beard was not a Nice-pak employee, but the death is said to have left workers at the factory traumatised.
Welsh Ambulance Service personnel attended the accident which occurred at about 8.20am on Thursday, August 6, and it took several hours to remove the man's body.
North East Wales coroner John Hughes said that a post-mortem has been carried out and the cause of death was given as severe blunt force head injuries.

David Urpeth from law firm Irwin Mitchell said: “Whilst the circumstances of this tragic work accident are unclear, it has been suggested that Mr Beard fell from his lorry whilst loading it. Falls from height remain a major source of serious and fatal injuries following an accident at work.
“Employers need to ensure that workers are provided with a safe place and a safe system of work.”
