Pedestrian Hit by a Car
A pedestrian hit by a car on a crossing in Bristol is being treated for life-threatening injuries as police appeal for witnesses.
A silver Jeep Cherokee had left Old Market Street in the city centre and was turning onto Temple Way when the accident happened. The pedestrian, a local man in his 20s, remains in a serious condition in Frenchay Hospital.
Police know there were a number of people in the area at the time, and are trying to trace a First Bus that is also believed to have been in the vicinity.

Having acted for other pedestrians knocked down on crossings, Tessa Herman said: "All too often drivers have little regard for pedestrians with dire consequences for that individual and their family.
"Cases such as this should serve as a reminder of the high level of responsibility and duty of care drivers owe to other road users and especially pedestrians. Our sympathies go out to the individual and we hope he will make a good recovery."
