Collision with a Black Cab

The driver of a car which was in collision with a black cab in London, killing a 10-month old baby, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The baby boy was travelling in the back of a black Audi with his 34-year-old mother when the car was in a collision with a taxi on Chigwell Road.

The baby suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at Whipps Cross Hospital. A post mortem examination will take place in due course, police said.

The baby's mother and the 35-year-old Audi driver were taken to an east London hospital suffering from minor injuries, while the 48-year-old cab driver was cut from his vehicle and taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition, police said.
