Dog Attack
An 11 year old boy has been injured after he was attacked by a dog while he played football with his friends.
The Labrador-bullmastiff cross ran out of a flat and tore open Brandon Archer's arms, bruising him and cutting skin by his left eye before his father managed to wrestle the dog off.
Following the attack on Gibraltar Court, Barrack Road, Northampton on Saturday, March 22, he was taken to Northampton General Hospital by emergency services.
Northamptonshire Police were made aware of the incident and the dog was destroyed later the same day.
David Urpeth, a Partner at law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "This case demonstrates the need for dogs to be kept under control at all times. Owners are liable for negligent harm caused by their dogs.
"Members of the public should be able to go about their business without fear of being attacked by dogs.
"We act for many people who have suffered injuries caused by dog bite attacks."
