Accident at sea
Milford Haven Coastguard have airlifted a crewman from a fishing vessel after he suffered an injury.
The Coastguard said they received an emergency call from the Philomena in Cardigan Bay at 19:44 on Tuesday, 19 February.
A rescue helicopter was sent from RAF Valley on Anglesey and the man, understood to have a crushing injury to the hand, was taken to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.
David Urpeth, a Partner at law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "Working at sea carries with it the extra hazard that if an accident happens, the victim is often a long way from medical care.
"Vessels are the workplace of many people and therefore, employers have a duty to ensure that workers are provided with a safe place of work so as to minimise the risk of an industrial accident.
"Sadly, I have represented many people who have been injured in workplace accidents which have occurred at sea."
