Road accident on holiday
A pensioner has died in a road accident while on holiday at his daughter's home in Western Australia
RAF veteran Harry Hargreaves, was in collision with a car while crossing a busy intersection, he suffered serious head injuries and leg fractures.
Mr Hargreaves was taken to the nearby Peel Health Campus, but died later while being transferred to the Royal Perth Hospital, West Australian State Police said.
Mr Hargreaves had flown to Australia just before Christmas, looking forward to catching up with his family.
A friend of Mr Hargreaves, Councillor Peter Davison, said: "Harry was a true gentlemen who never had a bad word about anyone. He will be sadly missed by all his many friends and my sympathy goes out to Derek and Janet and the rest of Harry's family."
