Morrisons salad recall due to fears of salmonella
The Food Standards Agency was informed on Friday 27th April that Morrisons is withdrawing packs of its own brand pre-packed leaf salad because of possible salmonella contamination. The affected bags of salad are Morrisons own brand Mixed Leaf Salad with Red Chard with use by dates of 29 April 2007.
Salmonella is a bacterial infection, most people that are infected with Salmonella develop diarrhoea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal cramps 6 to 72 hours after infection. In most cases, the illness usually lasts 3 to 7 days though most people that are affected recover without treatment.
