Compensation, And How It May Be Calculated

It’s always difficult to say exactly what a compensation claim may be worth. Typically it will depend upon:

  • The nature and extent of injuries or illness
  • The financial consequences of the injuries or illness
  • How the Claimant is likely to be affected in the future
  • The age and sex of the Claimant

It will also take into account legal issues including:

  • Guidelines based on previous case law
  • Guidance given by judges

For clients claiming compensation, we’ll gather evidence so that we can evaluate the claim, how much compensation you are likely to receive - and as the claim progresses, we’ll provide appropriate guidance.

Financial Losses

Most claimants suffer some form of financial loss as a result of injury, even in the smallest compensation claims. In cases of serious injury, these losses may be significant. The types of losses covered include:

  • Loss of Earnings
  • Travelling Expenses
  • Prescription Charges
  • Damaged clothing
  • Care
  • Adaptations to property
  • Aids and Equipment
  • Proven expertise in compensation claims
