What is the Irwin Mitchell Probate Premium service?
This is our comprehensive estate administration service. We take full responsibility for dealing with the estate, saving you time and reducing stress at what is already a difficult time. The service includes:
- Meeting the family if needed to discuss any requirements
- Arranging the funeral and registering the death, if needed
- Identifying the assets, debts and beneficiaries of the estate and obtaining values and securing the assets to build up a complete picture of the estate
- Drawing up all documents and applying for the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration
- Completion of all Inheritance Tax papers
- Selling, transferring and collecting all assets and paying all debts
- Making interim payments
- Settling all income and capital gains tax liabilities of the deceased
- Obtaining all necessary tax clearances
- Preparation of full estate accounts showing all transactions which have taken place
- Making final payments
- Keeping the beneficiaries/executors fully informed and updated on a regular basis

Normally the service will be charged either at an hourly rate basis (with an agreed up front estimate of charges) or an agreed % rate based on the value of the estate. All of this will be agreed in advance before we start any work on your behalf.
