1. What attracted you to Irwin Mitchell?
Initially, I had intended to stay at school to complete a business course, but I had the opportunity to attend an interview at Irwin Mitchell. After discussion with my parents, we agreed I would come purely for the interviewing experience as I never in a million years expected to get the job. In my eyes, Irwin Mitchell was way out of my league – a distinguished and highly reputable law firm, they were on a pedestal and only the best worked for them!
When I was offered the job as an office assistant I had a lot of soul searching to do. Needless to say the job won over the business course and to this day, I have never regretted my decision.
2. What do you enjoy the most about your role?
I have been privileged to have many roles at Irwin Mitchell: office assistant, secretary, PA, case manager, supervisor and Team Leader. I’ve worked in various departments and have also had the privilege of working with many people from different backgrounds and at different stages in their career at Irwin Mitchell. I have seen staff come and go, and come back again!
Currently I am employed as a Team Leader in the Personal Legal Services (Motor) team. I thoroughly enjoy my role for many reasons, from interviewing new starters and training, to guiding them through their career at Irwin Mitchell and more importantly “being there” for them. Even though my title may be Team Leader, I do consider myself as a friend, helping people through personal issues as well as work-related issues. I pride myself on having an excellent work ethic but remember we all need a helping hand at times.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than mentoring someone who may have started at Irwin Mitchell with little or no passion about the job, helping them turn the corner and become enthusiastic about their role and, more importantly, the part they play in Irwin Mitchell remaining a highly successful and reputable firm.
3. Why would you recommend Irwin Mitchell?
I have been blessed working at Irwin Mitchell. The people, partners, directors, associates, admin staff and HR staff have always treated me with respect. I have had some health problems and the support I received from Irwin Mitchell was second to none.
At Irwin Mitchell hard work pays off – you do get recognised for the work you do and there are several career paths open to people.
I am proud to be associated with Irwin Mitchell as I feel you do get recognition for the time, effort and work you put in. I am proof of that!
