Rebecca O'Callaghan



Rebecca is an associate solicitor specialising in all areas of corporate recovery, with an emphasis on contentious work. She provides clients - including insolvency practitioners, lenders and creditors - with strategic advice on a broad range of insolvency-related issues, with a particular expertise in administrations, asset recovery actions and litigation on behalf of insolvency practitioners, and on behalf of and against directors.

She has a strong relationship with RBS, having spent nine months on secondment as part of the Global Restructuring Group in Manchester. Rebecca is also an active member of the R3 North West committee and regularly speaks at seminars for and in conjunction with R3 on a wide range of insolvency-related subjects.

  • Acting on behalf of administrators in the sale of the business and assets of a well-known local manufacturer.
  • Two high value litigation claims against the former directors of separate companies for breach of duty.
  • Acting on behalf of a company to obtain a validation order from the Court at very short notice thereby allowing the business to continue to trade and saving the jobs of over 40 employees.
  • Acting on behalf of a trustee in bankruptcy in litigation against the former legal advisors of the bankrupt for breach of duty.
  • Acting on behalf of administrators in their appointment and pre-pack sale of a group of companies in the care sector.
  • Acting on behalf of a bank in litigation against two separate borrowers for mortgage fraud.
