Paul has broad experience in all aspects of non-contentious real estate providing a full range of advice on property portfolio management to a wide variety of landowners/occupiers.

In particular, Paul heads up the Irwin Mitchell Real Estate team in Manchester acting on insolvent and distressed scenario sales and acquisitions having acted on numerous receiverships and administrations.

Recent highlights:

  • Mapeley Estates: acted on the re-gear of Microsoft’s leases at Thames Valley Park at a combined annual rent of over £5 million, and on the property due diligence aspects of its refinancing of the “Columbus” portfolio comprising 450 properties which involved the preparation of over 200 certificates of title and title reports within a time frame of one month.
  • Northern Trust Company Ltd: acted on a planning promotion agreement with Severn Trent PLC for 11 sites covering over 300 acres, as well as the exchanging of contracts relating to the disposals of land for residential development with national house builders for a cumulative value of in excess of £20 million.
  • Trillium: acted on the disposal of a 4.9 acre site in Preston to Tesco.
  • Acting for IP’s on the disposal of a variety of properties and portfolios including residential, agricultural and retail notably providing solutions to known issues prior to disposal to enhance marketability and value.
