Megan Paul

I specialise in Court of Protection matters which involve managing the property and financial affairs of people who are unable to do so themselves due to a lack of mental capacity. This often includes assisting in the management of substantial personal injury awards, whilst always acting in the best interests of the client.

I deal with Deputyship applications and ongoing involvement (both professional and lay persons) in addition to dealing with Statutory Wills. I am also able to advise on Wills, Lasting and Enduring Powers of Attorney and trusts. I am an Affiliate of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

What Inspired You To Get Into Law?

I always loved the idea of a challenging career where no two days are ever the same and where I could help people and make a genuine difference to their lives.

What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is knowing that I have helped clients and their family/loved ones through a very difficult period of their lives and will continue to support them when they need it most.

What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?

I am proud to be part of a nationally recognised leading Court of Protection team. It is a friendly environment where I get the opportunity to work with highly experienced, dedicated and knowledgeable individuals to achieve the best outcome for our clients.

What Do You Do Away From The Office?

I enjoy spending quality time with family, friends and my two ageing, "festively plump" cats Tiny Peach and Darwin. I also like to keep fit with running and gym classes and am a very keen theatre-goer.

"Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know Mr XXX has been very complimentary about you. He explained that you had helped write a letter of appeal in regard to his son’s day care. He commented on your knowledge and professionalism."

"Thank you for all your support and for the lovely person that you are! It meant a lot us as a family."
