Helen Goldthorpe

Helen specialises in information technology, intellectual property, data protection, freedom of information, e-commerce and commercial contracts.

As part of the commercial and technology team,  Helen works on a number of high value IT procurement and commercial contracts in the private sector, including the procurement of software, and hardware and network services. Her experience includes advising a privately owned independent petroleum company on electronic shipping document systems and the development of an online fuel pricing and ordering service.

Additionally Helen advises on IT issues such as software licensing and development, the provision of services on an ASP basis, software reseller agreements, and the development and licensing of smartphone apps. She provides intellectual property advice including advice on licence agreements and assignments and has also advised a number of clients on data protection and freedom of information issues.    

Helen writes a monthly column for Writing Magazine and regularly speaks at the firm’s in house lawyer training events.
