I am a private client solicitor with a particular focus on tax and trusts, although I also regularly advise on wills and probates and maintain awareness of other relevant areas. As such, I am able to handle most estate planning and asset holding issues that arise for both domestic and international clients.
Almost half my work tends to be for trust companies (with whom I am always keen to develop closer ties) and includes drafting of trust deeds and other instruments and advising on the UK tax implications of various actions.
In tandem with the rest of the team, including supervising partners, I manage various matters on a day-to-day basis, looking after all aspects of client care and advice from initial discussions through matter inception and correspondence to completion and settlement of fees.
Every day, the world is becoming a more complex place in which to live. This complexity is extended by the multi-jurisdictional interests of an increasing proportion of families. I have always wanted to help people succeed in the battles of live and assisting them in their interactions with the law is one particularly significant and interesting arena.
I really enjoy working alongside outstanding colleagues at the cutting edge of private client law, which is changing month by month and frequently the subject of public debate. Helping clients to navigate the best course through this landscape is very rewarding.
I serve as a governor of the Sir John Cass Primary School in Aldgate and as a Church of England lay minister (reader) in the City Deanery. On the sports front, I enjoy badminton and hill walking, and tend to go skiing in the Swiss Alps most years. I have a strong amateur interest in national, local and family history and heritage, and maintain various political involvements.
