I am a Partner in the motor division of Irwin Mitchell, having joined the firm in April 2012.

My career has been focused in and around the insurance market, both working for and alongside major insurers to deliver outsourcing requirements and working in partnership with them and their insurers to design and build innovative products for market.

I have acted for insurers, brokers and many household, national and international corporate entities, responsible for strategy, design and implementation of those products.

Most recently I have launched a Corporate Uninsured Loss Recovery product, which not only services corporates with large, self insured fleets but also multi sited companies who suffer regular property damage.

My role at Irwin Mitchell is to expand and extend the current insured, personal lines recovery product, into the uninsured loss recovery (ULR) market, with a focus on the corporate market.

We presently handle over 7,500 claims per year for major insurers, corporates and intermediaries. We believe that our experience and knowledge of the commoditised market will ensure that we are ideally placed to continue to build on our successes.

I plan to utilise the firm’s Scottish presence and European network to offer a unique market leading European ULR service, and my responsibilities also include managing key client relationships and develop new business opportunities and products.


My specialism currently is high volume, uninsured loss recovery related motor work. I cover road traffic accidents, including pre and post litigation and driver negligence claims.

I have handled complex, high value personal injury litigation, fatal accidents, policy disputes and corporate killing cases.

What inspired you to get into law?

I went to a local firm on a summer placement and enrolled onto a law course that year. I knew instinctively that litigation was for me. I have never looked back.

What will be the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Helping corporate clients understand the uninsured loss recovery market and working with them to set up a programme which works with all parties to ensure a fast, effective, efficient recovery service. To making a difference to a process which can get overworked and troublesome and making the recovery process as straight forward and user friendly as I can.

What are you looking forward to within your role at Irwin Mitchell?

IM have a fabulous reputation for forward thinking and innovation, they have been first to market with so many products and services and have lead the way in a very tough legal market, because of this they have grown from strength to strength and have deserved their place in the legal rankings.

I am looking forward to being part of this culture and to the challenges that such a culture brings. I am also looking forward to working with a firm who welcomes the boundaries being pushed, so that I can deliver new products and innovative services to the corporate ULR market.

I am also looking forward to working with a firm with a market leading reputation for commoditized legal services. I think this can add a new dimension to the corporate ULR products.
