Camilla Bishop

I am a private client lawyer dealing with Wills, Trusts, and Probate work.   I specialise in inheritance tax planning and other aspects related to minimising tax on an estate and ensuring that someone’s affairs are in order.  I am a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and also have expertise in Court of Protection work and powers of attorney.  I’m also a member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners and on the Sussex STEP committee.

What inspired you to get into law?

I studied law as a mature student and was struck by how much there was to learn - this led to a career change to qualify as a lawyer.  I find working with private clients by far the most interesting and rewarding.  It is an ever changing area of law presenting many challenges.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding aspect of the role is the people.  You get to build relationships with clients that make all the hard work worthwhile.

What do you do away from the office?

I have a growing family of four boys to keep me busy outside the office.  I’m also a keen runner and I like to train in any spare time available.
